‘A Taste of Pittsford’ March 11 to Feature Variety of Food and Beverage Choices
Tickets are now on sale for the 16th annual “A Taste of Pittsford,” presented by the Rotary Club of Pittsford and featuring a variety of tastings from area restaurants, caterers, wineries and breweries.
The event is March 11 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Schultz Center at Nazareth College and also will include a silent auction and door prizes.
“It’s a fun evening and a good way to connect with friends and neighbors and also make new acquaintances,” said Jim Murphy, coordinator of the event for Pittsford Rotary. “This is our largest fund-raiser of the year with proceeds helping to support community organizations through the Pittsford Rotary Foundation. Our foundation supports such organizations as the Pittsford Food Cupboard, the Pittsford Volunteer Fire Association, the Cub Scouts, Little League, and Saint’s Place, among others. We also provide scholarships for students. We hope to see a large turnout.”
Several celebrity guests had committed to participate in the event by Feb. 1 and others may follow. Scheduled so far are Mary Chao, Marketplace staff reporter for the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle; Doug Emblidge, news anchor at 13WHAM-TV; Jessie Sleezer, director of communications for Monroe County; Gerard Rooney, president of St. John Fisher College; and Alli O’Malley, chief executive officer of Resolve-Greater Rochester; and Adam Bello, Monroe County Clerk.
General tickets are $45 each and are available at the Pittsford branch of Canandaigua National Bank, the Pittsford location of the Pittsford Federal Credit Union, and Forsythe Jewelers at 66 Monroe Ave. in Pittsford, next to Talbots. They are also available online at PittfordRotaryClub.org. Packages of 8 tickets are offered at a discount for $300. Valet parking will be available at the event.
